Complications of a scattered crocheted mind

The problem with crochet is that there are literally what seems like a infinite amount of patterns to try. I have always been the person that gets distracted by shiny things and in my case my shiny thing was brightly colored yarn I purchased at Michaels. Oh the colors, so vibrant, so happy feeling, called me. They actually were calling me for a long time through one of my crochet groups. So I took a leap and went and purchased them. Doing a random pattern search I stumbled across a video for Bob Wilson's crochet rainbow shawl. How flipping perfect!! the colors she used were similar to the very ones I purchased without having even seen this tutorial. Try it I must! so I did.

Here is the tutorial:

It was really easy and simple to follow and here is my shawl that I did. I didn't do three rows for the edging like she did. Possibly the next one I will.

I am going to gift this to someone at the job. She has always been nice to me since I started working here, very personable, open and just friendly. I started noticing that she looked sick and was told she had cancer. I watched this lady come in to the office on days you could tell she was feeling broken, to days like most recently when after a long round of chemo has this life force shining through her that is amazing. When I  think of her, I think of the most powerfully illuminated rainbow there could be. I hope she enjoys this as much I as I enjoyed making it with her in mind.

I did say the shawl prayer while making this (I think this will just become my crafting prayer from now on):
Say a Little Prayer
As I start this shawl I say a little prayer.
In hopes this shawl will be worn,
And not thrown neatly on a chair.
I say a little prayer that the Lord grants
your intentions that only you know.
I hope this shawl gives you comfort
where ever you go.
So, when you are happy, sad or you think
no one cares.
Wrap this shawl around you and say a little prayer.
Hope, Faith and Love is in each stitch I make
from beginning to end.
And with all the prayers I pray with this shawl that I send.
I pray that you know that the Lord is always there.
As I am finished with this shawl I say a little prayer.

I want to make one more for a friend that has recently lost her father and has been going through some tough times with her family. She could use a nice warm shawl to wrap around her.
